HomeSecPi

During my final year, I came up with a very challenging project idea. The aim of the project was to create from scratch a Raspberry Pi based alarm system (HomeSecPi) followed by all the necessary software application. One of the project objectives was to incorporate some unique features that could not be found in other similar open-source/proprietary systems. The idea was considered very stimulating because my objectives were feasible but at the same time very innovative as they were overlapping two distinctive knowledge areas, those of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. The project has also been presented at the School of Computing Student Conference 2015 (SOC) at University of Portsmouth, showcasing and discussing HomeSecPi with the invited business guests and the University’s staff across the department.
